FAQ's

In response to the survey sent out after last years races and questions we have heard, we'd like to give you some answers.

We're adding the option for racers to send an email out requesting people donate to sponsor them. It's a very easy tax deductible donation and proceeds from the race are then donated to the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Lance Armstrong Foundation. If you get a minimum of $50 in donations by March 26, you can sign up for as many races as you are qualified to race.

We are only able to secure the track for one day (the Saturday before Easter is the only option). That's why the races are on this day and the length they are, which enables us to get in as many races, for as many groups as possible.

Rules prohibit us from paying Juniors and Cat 5 male racers

We know that nobody likes to be the first race of the day. We're trying to shuffle races around and place the smaller groups first. We also try to stagger races so that some riders that want to double up, will have a race between them to recover.

We do have modest payouts. We have put on these races for 3 years with very little corporate sponsor support and have still been able to make donations to the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Lance Armstrong Foundation, which is our ultimate goal. Statistically, half of the men and one of three women you see at the track will be diagnosed with cancer.
